Why Culture Is Important
Described as a set of social behavior, ideas and customs related to a specific group of people in one society, culture is important for so many different reasons. First of all, each ofit has some characteristics that are most specific such as arts, music, social norms, food habits, religion and language.
These characteristics are most distinct ones among numerous cultures all around the world and they are the first things that people who don’t originate from that culture notice when they first get to know an unknown country to them. They do segregate through geographical borders so in some cases there are countries who actually share some of their cultural characteristics like the aforementioned ones with their neighbors.
A variety of cultures make our world colorful
Our world is rich in cultures and there is a huge range of various cultures in each corner of our planet. Each passing generation would hand down their culture to the new coming one hence that was how the cultures were maintained in time. The truth is, the best way of connecting people is through culture and in fact, the culture is the reason why people in the past started building the first communities. Eventually, that is how we got the first civilization.
The culture of that ancient civilization is the reason why we know about it in the first place. Each community built on one or more cultures have almost the same cultural backgrounds, drawing similar ancestral values for each individual. It is immune to time and all the cultural traits such as dress codes, language scripts, traditions and knowledge can easily endure the infinite tides of time. That is why each culture is so unique because it has thousands of years of evolution behind its back. To best put it in words, the importance of it comes from the fact that it is what defines the evolutionary value of us as species. It is what makes one nation unique from the rest of the world. Just like the world of animals or plants has unique ecosystems with thousands of different species, the same goes for humans.
